After seeing similar blogs and journals on my dear colleagues and my vocal idols' websites in cyberspace, I thought it might be fun to add stories of my own journey as a young artist, person, foodie, daughter, fitness acolyte, and world-traveler. So here goes! This last weekend I had fun making friends in Houston, TX and singing my heart out for the 9th annual Lois Alba Aria Competition. This lovely woman, Ms. Alba, pictured with me to the right, had a wonderfully fulfilling singing career. She has made it her life goal to teach healthy habits of singing, and also to help young opera singers get connected and receive opportunities to fund their careers through her competition early on in the business. I purchased her book--a helpful read, and I should have read this when I was 18 year old. Since I am shameless, I asked her to sign the book, and to my delight she gladly accepted.
